Thamsanqa Orphanage

NEW UPDATE – JULY 11 – CLICK HERE!!

We care for orphaned and abandoned children by providing foster homes for them to live in and grow with love, security and respect. We have bought, renovated and furnished three homes in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth . A fourth house has been bought and must now be renovated, extended and then be furnished.

In each home we have a foster mother with only six children living with her. The home functions as a family. The foster mothers are being screened and trained to provide the children with the affection and security they need for their sound development.

We ensure that the children have adequate food and clothes. Every child has his own bed to sleep on. 17 children are attending primary school and five are in high school. The youngest is attending a crèche.

More Life Skills Programmes need to be presented to the children, but funds are required in order to initiate it. The education of the children is a priority. We are ensuring that the children attend school regularly, and motivate them to take part in after school activities like, music, choirs, soccer and netball. We involve them in life skills programmes, therapeutic sessions etc.

We need assistance and help in this regard.
